It's our first Vintage Hat Friday!

It's our first Vintage Hat Friday!
Please, please, please vote for ME! (I'm the girl with pink hair! Vote for meeeeeee!)

(Don't worry house kit people- as we speak husband is on the land taking pictures and videos of construction progress. You'll get yours. : ) )

Copeland: "My strategy was simple. I expected Amy to show up with a big fru-fru flower hat STATEMENT so I took the opposite approach: minimalist, elegant.

I pulled out a black velvet number- no netting, just structure.

The shirt and skirt were handmade in Tokyo, off ebay- Amy turned me on to them a few years ago- they make cosplay costumes! So this is actually some cosplay character costume that I wear in real life and everyone thinks it's a high-end designer outfit. Ha!"

Amy: "I knew that Copeland had a huge array of beautiful vintage things, so I thought that adding layers to my outfit (and my story) would be my strongest front. And so - Lady On The Go!

With purse in hand and scarf blowing in the breeze, this put-together gal can show up just about anywhere. Our first Vintage Hat Friday has taught me one thing: half the challenge is the mind game going on while getting ready. 'But do I want to use this outfit today when she might blow it out of the water with her fabulous vintage whatever-she-has? Ack!'

Many thanks to my grandmother, who gave me the purse and hat I’m sporting today. Going through her closet together taught me what lady-like dressing really means."

1. You look super cute in your vintage hat.
2. You have a diamond doo-hickey. (Bonus points for the technical terminology)
3. You are awesome. :)

You two are having way too much fun over there. Love the Vintage Hat Friday's. I say it's a tie.

Copeland, you're looking VERY vintage (luv black on pink!), but I have to say that AMY really does take the cake on this first VHF.

Got to say, love copelands hat, but amy's is better :)

Ooh. I think I have to recuse myself from this competition:) Both are fabulous, ladies. You might inspire to have my own vintage hat fridays, though I have no vintage hats nor coworkers...

What fun! And you both look gorgeous. I think Amy has - again - proven she is unpredictable! Love the outfit - I want the jacket.

Amy gets my vote. Copeland gets major points for a great idea.

It's like seeing my Mother dress just to go shopping. You left off the white gloves and I hope you had a hankerchief in your purse!
It's a draw--both look great! Peggy

Both outfits are fantastic, but my vote has to go to Amy...beautiful ensemble, and captures the feel wonderfully. :-)

Another one for Amy, via email!

"From my Aunt Beth....I would say we should outlaw family voting, but frankly my family seems to balance your architects, ;)

'Aunt Beth's comments/vote: I vote most definitely for AMY............when I saw that picture of you and THAT HAT it was a dé·jà vuish moment for me. I used to wear a white hat similar to that one, way.....way....way...long ago. Aunt Beth'

Hahahaha this just in from my farmer friend George:

"Copeland, I'm in a quandary, all my experience in voting during the last several decades has been choosing what I thought was the lesser of the two evils and I can't find anything evil about either of one of the hats.

Since voting out of friendship wouldn't be objective, I'm going to have to pull an Obama and just vote present at this time. I will ... Read Moresay that the combination the elegant black on a bed of pink does exhibit a certain elan'."
